EEO-1 Aggregate Employment Data

EEO-1 Public Use File: aggregate employment counts by race/ethnicity, sex, and job category from the annual EEO-1 Component 1 report. Private employers with 100 or more employees, and federal contractors with 50 or more employees, report their workforce for a payroll period between October 1 and December 31, cross-tabulated across seven race/ethnicity groups, two sexes, and ten job categories by geography and NAICS industry. Filed under Section 709(c) of Title VII; EEOC uses the data to study employment patterns of minorities and women by industry and geography and to support enforcement and research.

EEO-3 Public Use File: membership and referral counts by race/ethnicity and sex from the biennial EEO-3 Local Union Report. Local referral unions (hiring-hall unions common in the building and construction trades) with 100 or more members report five record types: membership, applicants for membership, persons referred, referrals, and applicants for referral. EEO-1 Component 2 Public Use File: aggregate W-2 pay and hours data reported by private employers with 100 or more employees, and certain federal contractors, for collection years 2017 and 2018, as employee counts by salary band, broken out by geography (US state or territory and core based statistical area metro), 2-digit NAICS industry sector, race/ethnicity, sex, and job category. State-level rows give the all-geography total; there is no separate national rollup row.
